Laos performs a major military parade in Vientiane and displays modern weapons

A large military convoy was held in Vientiane on Sunday to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Army. According to a citation published on Russian media Sputnik on Monday, January 21, 2019.

During the ceremony there were a variety of weapons, most notably the Russian T-72 tank and BRDM-2M armored vehicles. Russia is currently supplying military equipment and weapons to Laos under the agreement reached during a visit by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shi Sergey Shoigu came to Laos in January 2018.
